X(HT)ML not (X)HTML
Since XML is the way we want to go—at least it is the way I want the web to go—, then I think it is better to refer to The Extensible Hypertext Markup Language and Hypertext Markup Language as X(HT)ML instead of (X)HTML. To emphasise the focus on XML.
X(HT)ML comments out the Hypertext, leaving the focus on XML. I feel this is a much better way to go about it than the current method where XML is commented out as a sidenote.

This makes sense. But I to not think anyone will bother with this. “(X)HTML” is a faster way to refer to the two approaches. Good initiative, though.
