I want a desktop computer!
I have been pro-portable notebook computer for the longest time. This has, however, recently changed. I am mostly using my computer while at home; and I really do not need it to be portable either. So for my next computer, I think I will get a desktop computer.
Desktop computers are more expensive than notebooks, but you will get more performance for less. Desktop computers are also known to have less hardware and driver interoperability issues with GNU/Linux than notebooks.
What will your next computer be? Portable or desktop? and why?

Portable probably, although not an ultra-portable. I like beenin able to use the computer at home and at school, so at least it should be "transportable".
And i like to be able to move the computer around at home, using it in the sofa, or at a desk. A desktop computer is way to stationary for the usage-pattern I have developed over four years using a laptop.
A selling point for a desktop computer is the proce though, you get better performance at a much better price. So if I where into gaming a would have gone for a desktop, but I don't game, so i guss my next computer will be a laptop as well (and probably a ThinkPad)

I have used a notebook for six years, and I hardly ever used the portability. The computer is mostly stationary. Therefore I think my next computer will have to be a desktop computer, where I get more performance for half the cost of a notebook.
