Less abbreviations, please.
I wish there was not as many abbreviations used in technology! I am pretty sure there is no field as cluttered by abbreviation mania! It appears everyone have got the impression that it is not cool enough if it is not abbreviated.
This is a shout out to all who write about technology in some way. Whether you are a manual author, journalist for some tech savvy news website, or writing an article about the latest and greatest…. Please begin spelling out all the abbreviations! Do not assume everyone knows what HD, IM, DVD, XMPP, RSS, XML, HTML (!), or whatever it may be—is.
Spell out abbreviations! Follow old rules about spelling them out the first time they are used in an text or document. It is a filthy habit not to explain what you are writing about. —and do not link me anywhere else to find out either!
