$50 ad‐revenue donated to KDE

The September advertisement revenue for this site was 50 USD. Even though I have not had the time to keep it up to date with fresh content! The ad‐revenue went straight to K Desktop Environment projects.

The money were split over two projects:

  • 20 USD to Amarok, the audio player
I might win an Cowon iAudio 7! (Was nothing but good timing.)
  • 30 USD to KDE, main project
Earmarked Mac OS porting and KMail development.

Next donation will probably go to the OSI. Even though they recently approved three Microsoft licenses as being open source.

Remember to keep visiting Open Source Notebook to support open source development! I will even try and provide more content in the weeks to come.

Hey, that's a nice thing you did there. I mean, it's not often people actually donate to OSS projects. :)

I'm impressed. I donate on average about 50 USD per year. And you did it in one month. Your actions speaks more than words for support …

Then now is the time to donate to Amarok, Kent! You might win an iAudio 7, you know!

With this donation I have donated 75 USD to KDE this year.

I only donate to the projects I like and use, and Amarok is not one of them I'm afraid …

So, let me get this straight… You're willing to give money out of your own free will to an operating system project, but not purchasing an OS? (granted, an OS for $50 is a bloody bargain, but still :P ).

The major difference is the words: "Own free will". …
You can donate if you want, but there is no need at all, and I salute everyone that helps with either coding, bughunting or in this case money donations.

No, Kent. The real difference is that I can afford to help raise money to pay for the development. I have used KDE for a year but could not afford to donate too much until recently. (I have been unemployed.)
