OGG is for metadata too
OGG is a media container format. But it is also supposed to contain metadata; information describing the media it contains. But there is no standard at all for including metadata in OGG containers. I want to change that.
Update: Got it's own page on the Xiph wiki.
I have submitted an general idea for a XML based way of marking up metadata to Xiph.Org Foundation's ogg-dev mailinglist. My contribution can be found in the ogg-dev web archive for 2007-09.
Do contribute by submitting any feedback or suggestions! It will show interest in the further improvement of the OGG media container format too.
PS: The Xiph.Org Foundation are in a bit of financial trouble these days. Donate any amount to help them keep up their good work with developing free media formats.
