I do understand that manufactures have got to put all kinds of warnings on their products. But is this not taking it a little too far? They cannot honestly have so little fate in their own consumer's intellect?

Cnet's Buzz Out Loud Podcast

My favourite Podcast is Cnet's Buzz Out Loud with Molly Wood, Veronica Belmont and Tom Merritt.

It is not directly related to open source, free software nor Linux. But I would still recommend the show here as it covers daily tech news and focus on consumer's rights, drawbacks with DRM, and other topics of that kind. They also cover cool gadgets and Web news! It is a fun and interesting round up of the last day's major news in a daily show. Definitely worth listening too.

More than a thousand journalists died bringing you the news

TIME reports than over a thousand journalists, and support staff died while on the job over the last decade, according to a report from the International News Safety Institute.

Most of those killed were men who died in their home countries. Nearly half were shot. Others were blown up, beaten to death, stabbed, tortured, or decapitated.

I were surprised by the high numbers of causalities, and think this is an unpleasant reminder to all of us. We need to respect the people who are bringing us the news, and those willing to give their life in the process.
