Max, Tag, and Play your digital music

Mac OS X user have access to a really cool open source software suite for digital music management and playback.
Max (CD ripping and file format converting), Tag (meta-data editor), and Play (playback and play-lists) are three applications by Stephen F. Booth that I enjoy and truly recommend!
Just have a look at Play's user interface! It is delicious!

You might call Play's user interface simple and say that it's not that new or really anything… Well I beg to differ. It's simplicity is actually just what I like about it. It has got all I need for audio playback, search, and album art included! It does playlist, but opens them in new windows instead of tab or source based view; as most other audio players do.
Max is the best audio format converter, and CD ripper I have ever come accross on any platform! It supports every format you can think of. And of course it, as does the rest of Stephen's applications, support OGG Vorbis and FLAC.
Tag is just ingeniously simple and does what no other application do right: It lets you edit meta-data for most open source audio formats in no time.
It is really too bad these applications only are available on Mac OS X!
Did I mention it's my birthday today? Happy birthday to me! Now, does anyone want to port these three applications to Linux as my birthday present? ![]()
