Flash!! Well, just the player but still…
Adobe Flash Player 9 is available for download from Adobe's Website. This is the final release of their popular (but proprietary) player.
The automatic installer script only recognizes Mozilla based Web browsers as browsers. Which is kind of odd, but you could easily install Flash player as a plug-in for other browsers manually.
My hopes for this updated version is that I finally will be able to visit Websites with embedded Flash content without fearing the browser crashing due to the plug-in.
I have used the updated version for an hour and I have visited all Websites that uses to crash my browser when I used the beta. Guess what? They do not crash my browser anymore. Instead those sites turn my browser into a memory hog! Hurray! Well, kinda. At least I can view the sites now.
Better Adobe, but not perfect.
